Coatesville Masonry

One of the features of this Mediterranean style house is a 3m high stud to the lower floor.
This elevates the upper floor to the maximum allowed by height to boundary restrictions and makes the best use of the extensive views out to Rangitoto Island and the Hauraki Gulf.
The lower floor is concrete with a gas fired reticulated water heating system in the Slab.
The house is a timber-framed construction with a clay tile roof and a combination of plastered brick and insulclad exterior cladding. The insulclad was used as a cladding for the arches, which dominate the front of the house. The pillars that hold up the arches are solid concrete formed with the use of forma tubes (thick cardboard tubes used as boxing).
The 3 car garage and work shop were added after the house was finished along with the covered walkway to the side entry of the house.
